VK2US-1
There is currently an
intermittent problem with the VK2US-1 digipeater. It is still operating,
but with reduced range.
We suspect there may be some antenna damage, and a visit to the site is
being arranged for after Chrstmas to investigate and hopefully restore
the digi to full service.
VK2AMW-1
A SiteAlert will be installed
on this digi soon.
This digi is also likely to have a callsign change and become VK2RUW-1
VK2AMW-2
This digi is likely to have a change of callsign to VK2RBT-1
VK2MPJ-1
Will be relocated to a higher position just outside of Nowra (Nowra Hill).
VK2CSU-1
Iis currently located on the south face of a hill, and provides poor coverage
to the north of Wagga. A new location is being investigated, which would
see this digi providing improved coverage to the north, whilst maintaining
the existing coverage in all other directions.
VK2RMC-1
This digi is still under test, and not always connected to a 'decent'
antenna. It is hoped that this system will be fully operational soon.
VK2HLT-1
Is currently under test, and should soon be installed in its new location
at Square Knob (near Leeton, between Wagga and Griffith). This site will
extend the western boundaries of the state's VHF network.
VK2RTZ-1
Is also now on air and under test. VK2ZEN-1 has been turned off and teh
coverage of RTZ is being evaluated.
NEW
DIGIPEATERS
VK2RGL-1
The Great Lakes ARC have agreed to install a digipeater at thier Cabbagetree
Mountain site, near Forster. Work is progressing on this installation,
and installation is expected in the coming weeks.
The Orana Radio club has offered
to install digipeaters at thier VK2RCD, VK2RCC and VK2RRT repeater sites.
A site survey of these sites is currently in progress to determine the
feasibility of installing the required digipeater equipment at these locations.
Discussions are under way with
various groups regarding the possibility of a new digipeaters at:
- Ganghat,
- Telegraph Point, near Port Macquarie.
- Coffs Harbour.
70cm Network
Work is also underway to establish
the 70cm network on 439.100. We have the IGate at VK2INT, and confirmed
digipeater sites at VK2US, VK2RSW and VK2AMW-1. This network should be
operational in the first half of 2008, and will carry a larger range of
data to that available on 2m.
